What does Thanksgiving mean to you? For me Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks for your past year, no matter how big or small the thanks is. I have so much to be thankful for this year, including the health of both my children, a new home and new beginnings.
I want to thank all my followers for the emails and support I have received from you over the past year, I am humbled by the sincerity of each message, email or comment and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I wanted to remind you of my favorite recipes for the holiday as I am more of a traditionalist and I am not ready to change up my Thanksgiving dinner…this year! lol
Of course we should start with the thurkey, after many years of exploring and trying different methods, this has become my favorite, I can remember my ex husband saying “write it down the way you made it so we can do it that way from now on” and that’s exactly what I did. Never eating cranberry sauce growing up, made me never want to serve it, until I created this recipe. For a twist on cranberry sauce, try my sweet and spicy cranberry sauce using chipotle peppers, click here for the recipe
I grew up with my mom taking yams and putting butter and maple syrup on them, she then cooked them until they were candied, while that was super yummy, making this souffle is so much easier and is great for crowds, I promise you will love this recipe. Being Italian we grew up with very different cookies then here in America. Instead of making biscotti, now I make ginger twigs as they are perfect for for dessert. Ginger twigs, click here for the recipe they are a bit sweet and spicy
I only grew up eating my Nonna Civita’s pumpkin pie, 20+ years ago I was introduced to this recipe and I never switched back. I made this for a “Pre-Thanksgiving” dinner on Saturday and everyone went crazy! Pumpkin pie cake, click here for the recipe
I just wanted to share a few of my favorites from years past…as you can see I am a creature of habit and like the traditions I have instilled in my household. I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving and that you find your “thanks” that surpass last year, be safe!
