Do you know what Shandy Beer is? Have you ever ordered one or has anyone ever made one for you? I had never heard about a shandy beer until last weekend when a new friend offered to make me one…then I was sold!
14 people came together to celebrate Mike’s 50th birthday, we met in Paso Robles, California, we all shared a house and made appetizers, breakfast, snacks and drinks. We would sit by the fire at night and enjoy the evening hearing stories about Mike, mind you Mike brought 14 people together who never met…by the end of the weekend you’d of thought we all had known each other since childhood.
There was one couple, both European who loved to drink shandy beer, I had never heard of it before so when they offered to make me one I of course said yes.
It’s a super easy drink to make as he sliced oranges
put beer in a glass with some sprite, added the orange slice and there you have it…a Shandy Beer
While I’m typically not a beer drinker, adding the sprite helped to cut down the “bitter” part of the beer. From what I read on line the sprite can also be substituted with ginger ale or ginger beer. This Shandy Beer drink recipe is the perfect drink on a hot summer night and for the non beer drinker.
