Who doesn’t love a homemade, warm chewy chocolate chip cookie? Oh yeah…I went there!
Sometimes it’s difficult to whip up a batch of your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, especially last minute. So, when I was at the market and found a “box” to make home baked chocolate chip cookies I just couldn’t resist to try it as I am always a sucker at trying new recipes.
I don’t always do everything from scratch, sometimes a box of cake mix is so much easier than starting from scratch…yes,it happens…even in my house. The thing is, is it’s good to know that you can make that cake/cookie box taste just like homemade and no one needs to know that it came from a box.
You put a stick of room temperature butter in a bowl with an egg and some water
Add the “package” of goodies, like chocolate chips and butterfingers
Everyone liked them and couldn’t believe they came out of a box. I’m not sure where I could change this recipe to make it better as it already has a lot going on, for me the cookies were not chewy, they were cake like and even with all the candy in the mix they didn’t have a sweetness to the cookie itself.
In making this recipe from Nestle, I realized I want to explore more boxed cookie recipes, so watch out for it. For me personally, this was not my favorite as I like my cookies to be more chewy, I even played around with the oven temperature and time but I couldn’t get that chewy chocolate chip cookie. If you are in a bind, give them a try and then let me know what you think??
