I think I just died and went to heaven…yes I went there! I just created the most amazing, amazing, amazing pound cake. I took my childhood favorite sandwich and make it into his fabulous peanut butter, nutella and marshmallow pound cake. Growing up as the first generation born in America, Nutella was a staple in our house, my mom would always send us to school with peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches and if we were really lucky, she’d buy “fluff”, a marshmallow spread, and add it to our sandwich.
Because Kelsi has a soccer dinner party that I am attending tonight, I thought I’d make dessert as the girls on her team enjoy my desserts. I was so craving that peanut butter, Nutella and marshmallow sandwich that I thought I’d make my own version in a pound cake for the girls. It was heavenly! I also wanted to bake it today because I was having a couple come over as a potential buyer for the house and I wanted my house to smell amazing and let me tell you, it did smell amazing!
Make sure to follow my instructions on this one as i created this on my own and while the taste was amazing, I’d change it for next time. First I put my butter in a mixer and whipped it
I then added the sugar and mixed well
I added each egg, one at a time and mixed well
sift flour with the baking powder, baking soda and salt
I combined the milk and yogurt and put it aside (sorry no photo of that), then to my mix of butter, sugar and eggs I began to add my dry (flour) mix and wet (milk/yogurt) mix, I started with flour
mixed until just blended and added the wet ingredients
I ended with the dry and continued mixing until the dough was well mixed
I then added my peanut butter
and mixed well
I poured some of the mixture into my prepared pan
and put some peanut butter on top
I swirled it
added some more of the mixture on top (I over poured the batter, next time I’d do much less)
added some nutella and marshmallow
swirled again and time to bake
I baked it for about an hour…Oh my did my house smell amazing!
I was so excited to slice it to see the swirl, I was a little dissapointed in the swirl but it didn’t matter as I loved, Loved, LOVED the flavor!
I made up this recipe from scratch and while I presented the photos of what I did, please follow my recipe below…of course please feel free to explore and try to make it even better. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did!
